Aims of the course: 

This online training is delivered by Small Steps is an organisation which counters far right extremism, hate and division. Using first hand experience of the workings of far-right groups, the session aims to empower by raising awareness of the far-right, the dangers of this extremism and racism.

By the end of the training participants will:

  • have explored different type of far-right organisations operating,
  • have examined grooming and training techniques used by the far-right,
  • understand signs and symptoms to look out for,
  • have examined counter narratives to far-right arguments, and
  • have developed engagement and difficult Conversation skills.

A Note about Groups:

  • Group A training is for people who are in contact with or work regularly with children and young people and with their parents/carers
  • Group B training is for people who work regularly with children and young people and adults who are parents/carers and may have particular responsibility for safeguarding children
  • Group C training is for designated safeguarding leads and managers in organisations employing staff to work with children and families or with responsibility for commissioning or delivering services.

This course is for colleagues that fall into groups A, B and C.
