Aim of the course:
Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) is a growing problem that occurs throughout the UK. It affects boys and girls who are under 18 from any social, ethnic and economic background. CCE robs victims of their childhood and has serious long-term effects on every aspect of their lives and may be life threatening. This is an issue of abuse and not a lifestyle choice and the children who are criminally exploited are victims.

This half day workshop will look at how practitioners engage with young people and enhance their understanding of the boundary between 'victim and offender'.

By the end of the session, participants will:
  •  have an improved understanding of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and County Lines,
  •  have an improved understanding of risks and harms to children being criminally exploited,
  •  know what signs to look for when a child is being criminally exploited such as missing from school and/or home,
  •  understand the role of grooming and gangs in CCE,
  •  be able to identify the factors that makes children and young people vulnerable to exploitation,
  •  have an understanding on the political nature of drugs,
  •  be aware of Modern Day Slavery, and
  •  understand the role social media plays in CCE.
This training is open to all professionals who work with children and young people.
