Aim of the course:

This half day virtual training session aims to teach the Parenting Together 6-session programme. The programme has been designed to be delivered by practitioners directly to couples or individuals. The step-by-step programme can be used to guide couples through one-to-one support. It also offers practical tools and resources to those affected by everyday relationship challenges.

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • be familiar with the with Amity parenting together sessions contents,
  • understand tools, strategies and activities, the pre and post support self-reporting questionnaire, and how to use them within the context of parental conflict/individual support, and
  • understand why we need to support parents and carers to improve their communication and role constructive model conflict resolution for children.

A Note about Groups:

  • Group A training is for people who are in contact with or work regularly with children and young people and with their parents/carers
  • Group B training is for people who work regularly with children and young people and adults who are parents/carers and may have particular responsibility for safeguarding children
  • Group C training is for designated safeguarding leads and managers in organisations employing staff to work with children and families or with responsibility for commissioning or delivering services.

This course is for colleagues that fall into groups B and C.
