CHSCP: Intra-Familial Child Sexual Abuse

This one-day introductory course provides an overview of the key issues needed to support professionals who work in collaboration with other agencies in identifying and responding to intra-familial child sexual abuse.

By the end of this session, delegates will:

• understand the scale and nature of child sexual abuse,
• understand how the impact of child sexual abuse presents across the life course
• have examined how children communicate their experiences of sexual abuse and the professional role in helping them do this,
• consider how and why sexual abuse happens in families, and
• understand the importance of multi-agency working when supporting children and families affected by child sexual abuse.
