Aim of the course:

This 'shared expertise' two-hour briefing is open to all professionals who work with children and young people in the boroughs of the City of London and Hackney, and provides a full overview on non-recent CSA disclosures.

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • be aware of non-recent Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) – why it matters,
  • know what action to take if they receive a disclosure of non-recent CSA by a child, young person or adult,
  • know how to support children, young people and adults who disclose non-recent CSA.
  • understand the action taken by Homerton Healthcare to have a better understanding of non-recent CSA,
  • know how disclosures of non-recent CSA are managed by the Homerton Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service, and
  • be aware of the factors for partner agencies to consider in developing systems and pathways on non-recent CSA.

There will be an opportunity for delegates to ask questions and have a wider discussion.
