Childhood bereavement – how can you support adults to support children?
Why is the conference so important?
Did you know 46.9% of deaths in England occur in hospital (Public Health England, 2016)?
Many of your patients will be a: parent, grandparent, sibling, or someone else important to a child.
Do you feel confident in supporting an adult when someone important dies in a child’s life? Understandably, many staff report they feel under confident.
This conference will give you tools to support you to enquire and think ahead for an adult.
Who is it for:
The conference has a wide reach to all frontline Barts Health staff, and across North East London, including: nurses, AHP's, doctors, psychologists, admin and clerical, students, our local healthcare partners, and charities - who are currently working in, or have an interest in bereavement.
Note:
- this event is NOT for the general public
- we would like to make attendees aware that some of the sessions may cover topics which have the potential to be upsetting
The event includes:
- information stalls thst will be hosted by colleagues and local bereavement charities during break time,
- free refreshments, and a light lunch,
- a chance to network, meet new colleagues and share ideas, and
- step free access and loop system available.
