Detail:
Homerton Healthcare, NEL CSA Hub and the Havens are offering training to any professional who works with children and young people where there are concerns regarding child sexual health within City and Hackney. During this 2.5 hour session we will be discussing the health aspects of sexual abuse including an outline of what constitutes sexual abuse, sexually transmitted infections, the different types of medical assessment, how to refer to services for medical assessment, and how we manage children’s emotional health and wellbeing.
By the end of this session professionals will:
- understand what behaviours can be considered as sexual abuse
- have explored the different medical assessments associated with CSA
- feel confident at referring for medical assessment
- have a good understanding of the health processes to care for children and young people who have experienced harm.
- have had an opportunity to discuss ‘grey cases’.
A Note about Groups:
- Group A training is for people who are in contact with or work regularly with children and young people and with their parents/carers
