CHSCP: Roma Culture Awareness: Safeguarding and Children Protection

This session promotes better understanding of Roma culture, issues affecting Roma communities, and examples of good practice when supporting Roma families in a safeguarding and child protection context.

By the end of the session, participants will:

• have an overview of the Roma community in the UK,
• have nsight into Roma history within the wider European context, including history of discrimination,
• have insight into issues affecting Roma families with focus on Child Protection,
• understand key challenges affecting professionals working with Roma, and
• have explored examples of good practice when working with Roma in safeguarding and child protection context.
