Solutions Not Sides have been operating educational workshops on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the UK for over 10 years, providing young people and communities with humanising encounters and critical-thinking skills. They are specialists in addressing Antisemitism and Islamophobia in relation to Israel-Palestine and educating on diverse narratives.
The session will cover:
- a brief overview of Solutions Not Sides' work helping young people develop skills to navigate this complex issue beyond simplistic positions and partisanship,
- narratives about Israel-Palestine in various UK communities and activist groups,
- how to recognise Islamophobia and Antisemitism in debates about the conflict, and
- the Solutions Not Sides’ methodology on addressing Islamophobia and Antisemitism related to attitudes and views on the conflict.
A Note about Groups:
- Group A training is for people who are in contact with or work regularly with children and young people and with their parents/carers
- Group B training is for people who work regularly with children and young people and adults who are parents/carers and may have particular responsibility for safeguarding children
- Group C training is for designated safeguarding leads and managers in organisations employing staff to work with children and families or with responsibility for commissioning or delivering services.
This course is for colleagues that fall into groups A, B and C.
