Aim of the course:
This external course is aimed at social workers, social care colleagues, police colleagues, health colleagues, education colleagues, the voluntary sector, anyone working with children and young people wishing to broaden knowledge and awareness of identifying and responding to child sexual abuse.
By the end of this session professionals will:
- have increased awareness of identifying and responding to Child Sexual Abuse (CSA)
concerns, - have increased awareness of the CSA response pathways in the area,
- have learned about the medical and emotional support needed following an allegation of sexual
abuse/assault, - understand what is involved in a forensic medical examination (FME) and a CSA
medical, and - understand the range of services offered at the Sunrise Hub
