CHSCP: Group B/C - Safe Space Programme

This course is specifically for Multi-agency practitioners working with adults and children, committed to supporting parents and/or carers and their child over 6 to 12 sessions. The strategies you will learn is suitable for use with children up to 15 years of age.

In the week prior to the live session, delegates will be required to complete the 90 minute pre-course virtual session. Only register for the course if you are committed to doing the additional work and attending the event in person.

Aim of the course:

A one day face to face training course to equip practitioners working with families with a structured sessional resource. This resource has tools and strategies to address family dynamic difficulties where children are using unwanted/challenging behaviours. This resource will support both children and parents/carers to build stronger and healthier family relationships. 

By the end of the course, delegates will:

• understand the reasons why children and adolescents use regularly challenging and unwanted behaviours that parents and carers find difficult to address,
• have become familiar with the tools and strategies in the Safe Space resource that help to strengthen the parent/child relationship,
• be able to increase parenting confidence, and
• have the ability to support children to understand feelings and behaviours.

A Note about Groups:

• Group A training is for people who are in contact with or work regularly with children and young people and with their parents/carers
• Group B training is for people who work regularly with children and young people and adults who are parents/carers and may have particular responsibility for safeguarding children
• Group C training is for designated safeguarding leads and managers in organisations employing staff to work with children and families or with responsibility for commissioning or delivering services.

This course is for colleagues that fall into groups B and C.
