Aim of the course
This one-day in person training is for all staff working to safeguard children from sexual abuse and exploitation within their organisation. The course aims to offer attendees an insight into the behaviour of adults who sexually abuse/exploit children by developing their knowledge and dispelling myths.
Delegates enrolling on this foundation level course should not be booking the same course at intermediate level within the same training year.
By the end of the session delegates will:
- have gained a greater insight into the behaviour of perpetrators of Child Sexual Abuse/
Exploitation (CSAE), - have increased confidence in relation to meeting and dealing with CSAE perpetrators, and
- have a developed a deeper understanding of CSAE perpetrators who exploit their positions of trust.
A Note about Groups:
- Group A training is for people who are in contact with or work regularly with children and young people and with their parents/carers
- Group B training is for people who work regularly with children and young people and adults who are parents/carers and may have particular responsibility for safeguarding children
- Group C training is for designated safeguarding leads and managers in organisations employing staff to work with children and families or with responsibility for commissioning or delivering services.
This course is for colleagues that fall into groups A and B.
