Course description:

Training will focusing on

  • Importance of understanding Anti Racist Practice approach to support survivors of domestic violence
  • Importance of understanding intersectionality, inclusivity, and diversity’s impact on the experiences of Black and Global majority survivors of domestic violence
  • Challenges and barriers needed to be overcome by Black and Global majority survivors of domestic violence in accessing key statutory/voluntary services

Learning aims and outcomes:

Participants will gain an understanding of:

  • How to use the Anti Racist Practice to respond and support survivors of domestic violence
  • How to better understand the challenges and barriers faced by black and global majority survivors of domestic violence
  • How to develop better approaches to discussing safety planning, support planning and casework support with Black and Global majority survivors which addresses intersectional needs
  • How to increase engagement of Black and Global majority survivors with statutory/voluntary services
  • Specialist services available for specialist language/cultural support for survivors of domestic violence in LBH
