CHSCP Course Attendance Standards for Delegates

CHSCP Course Attendance Standards for Virtual Courses (Scroll down for In-Person courses)

Before the Course

  1. Save the Date. Whether nominated by management, for necessary knowledge, or for personal interest, you are enrolled on this course taking up limited spaces. Protect the date and time by planning ahead.
  2. Complete the Pre-Course Evaluation. If you self-enrolled, you would have done this as part of the enrollment process. If you were enrolled by an administrator, or promoted from the course waiting list, we ask that you log in to your account, and access the ‘Your History & Booking’ tab. The link is located within the course table.
  3. Check the Booking Email. Upon booking, you will be sent an email from forms@formmail.co.uk. Ensure the details of your booking are correct. You may need to check the spam/junk folder and mark it as being from a safe sender to avoid missing important updates e.g. Joining Instructions.
  4. Review the Joining Instructions. Joining Instructions are sent 7 days before a course and 1 day before the course. They include the date, time and venue.
  5. Download your Course Materials. Some courses will have pre-course materials intended for use either before or during the training session. To access these, log in to your account, and access the ‘Your History & Booking’ tab. The link is located within the course table.
  6. Cancellation. If you are no longer able to attend a course, we ask that you log in to your account, and access the ‘Your History & Booking’ tab. Locate the relevant course and follow the ‘Cancel’ link. Cancellation made within 2 days of the course will be marked as ‘not attended’. Line managers will be notified.

On the Day of the Course

  1. Be On Time. Log in to the virtual training platform before the scheduled start time. The registration and start time is communicated in advance, so ensure you join promptly.
  2. Arrival Cut-Off. For courses under 2 hours, there is a 10 minute registration period. For courses longer than 2.25 hours, there is a 20 minute registration period. If you arrive after this time, you may not be admitted, regardless of the reason. This is to maintain the integrity and flow of the training session. In any case, you will not be marked as having attended.
  3. Cameras On. To foster engagement and participation, all delegates are expected to keep their cameras on throughout the session. If this is not possible, please notify the trainer in advance.
  4. Microphones Muted. Please keep your microphone on mute when not speaking to minimize background noise and distractions. Unmute yourself when you wish to contribute to discussions or when called upon by the trainer.
  5. Screen Sharing. No more than two delegates should share a screen. Ideally, each participant should join using their own device unless an alternative arrangement has been made with the trainer beforehand.
  6. Active Participation. Engage actively by contributing verbally or using the chat function. Trainers will be monitoring both forms of interaction, so make sure to demonstrate your presence and involvement during the session. Trainers may remove delegates whose attendance cannot be verified by camera presence and participation. Line managers will be made aware.
  7. Respectful Communication. Virtual training is an opportunity to collaborate with professionals from various backgrounds. Respect differing viewpoints and contribute positively to the discussion. Any discriminatory behaviour will be addressed.
  8. Take Breaks When Needed. If you find any part of the content particularly distressing, especially sensitive topics, you may turn off your camera and step away briefly. Let the trainer know if you need to take a longer break.
  9. Patience and Collaboration. Participants come with different levels of knowledge and experience. Be patient and inclusive in your interactions, making sure everyone feels comfortable contributing.
  10. Serious Breaches. Any significant breach of these expectations, such as lack of engagement, inappropriate behaviour, or repeated failure to mute/unmute microphones properly, may be reported to your line manager.
  11. Enjoy the Experience. Take full advantage of the virtual training to expand your knowledge and skills. Active participation will make the session more rewarding for you and your fellow delegates.
